we were just finishing up dinner
and taking out the work we brought
to do along the wait
but I was too tired as I lacked a lot
of sleep, I stoned every moment
occasionally helping Jolene with
her webpage building assignment
while Li Lin learned her script for
her presentation the next day
occasionally helping Jolene with
her Econs tutorial
the other two? let’s just say they
came for the dinner of Popeye’s

about the fact that her Boyfriend will be returning in
an hour’s time
but as the Time drew nearer, we could all sense that
her excitement was growing
and growing
and Growing
until it looked like she could not even sit still for
a minute

that I went back to rowing at Kallang.
The last time was probably back
in Deepavali? That seems so
long ago. Rowing seemed
tough at first but, I guess
I got used to the rowing
after two rounds. Still,
it aches, though.

right after going there the day before
I guess I kind of like to gym
for the sake of doing it?
But, gosh, my muscles do ache rather
badly. Not to mention that we
still have Kallang later.

because it was one method
to make me stop with this
nail-peeling business
I usually buff those that
are sort of growing
so once it’s all shiny and nice
I can’t bear to destroy it
I buffed three nails
before giving up because
hey, buffering nails is
tiring, you know

I just stood by the train doors
and watched the world go by on my right
Suddenly, this man stands from his seat
and walks right up to my left
and I wonder what he’s up to
He punches me lightly on my arm
I turn to find my Papa Bear
standing before me
And my first thought was
Whoa, what’s with the hair?
because it looks really weird
It’s an island crew, he explains
Everyone at my workplace has it
Just that my fringe is longer
You lost weight, I tell him
At least, you lost more since the
last time I saw you a long time ago
I did? he looks surprised
I’ve been trying to gain weight
Then again, it has been a really long time
Yes, it has, I agreed
It was nice seeing you Papa Bear
With lots of love from your Bearbette
